Entelim vs Orbus Software (iServer / OrbusInfinity)

A factual comparison for teams evaluating enterprise architecture tools.

The short answer

Orbus Software is, by its own account, in the middle of rebranding its cloud hosting service from iServer (iServer365) to OrbusInfinity. A third-party software-pricing aggregator lists a starting figure of roughly 12,000, described on that listing as a "Per Feature" charge — a figure that does not appear on Orbus's own product page, so treat it as third-party-reported rather than confirmed. In December 2024, Orbus also acquired fellow enterprise-architecture vendor Capsifi and folded it into OrbusInfinity, which is why Capsifi does not get a separate comparison page here — it is no longer an independent product. On framework support, Orbus's own site states OrbusInfinity ships full ArchiMate 3.2 notation with layered viewpoints, preconfigured TOGAF ADM phases, a content metamodel and governance artifacts, BPMN 2.0 templates and ITIL process mapping. Entelim is open source under AGPL, self-hostable, and built on full ArchiMate 3.2 modelling, with its own plans and pricing published directly.

What Entelim already does

  • Import your existing model. ArchiMate Open Exchange and .archimate import, with a full element browser across every layer.
  • CSV and Excel import for anything not already in ArchiMate form.
  • Find what you're paying for twice. Run duplicate detection across your whole application list, review the overlapping groups it finds, and add them to a consolidation plan.
  • A business case built from your own figures, never invented to fill a gap.

Frequently asked questions

How do we move from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity to Entelim, and how much work is it?

There is no direct connector from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity, so you move your data as files. Export an ArchiMate Open Exchange file if it offers one, or spreadsheets if not, then import them with batch import. The work is the export from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity and checking what arrived, which the import history records. If you would rather not do it yourselves, the architecture health check does the import and analysis for a fixed $4,500, and onboarding is $1,500 on top of the Team plan.

Will we lose data moving from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity?

What comes across is what you can export: elements, relationships and properties from an Open Exchange file, and the columns of a spreadsheet. Anything that lives only inside the old tool, such as its own reports, dashboards, workflow records and user accounts, does not come across, so export what you need before your contract ends. Nothing is removed from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity by importing, so keep it running until you have compared counts and spot-checked the results.

What would Entelim cost us compared with Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity?

Orbus shows no prices on its product page. A third-party listing on GetApp gives a starting figure of 12,000, shown as per feature. Ask Orbus for a quote at your scope and compare. Entelim's price does not depend on how many applications you hold: Community is free for up to three people, Startup is $49 a month for up to ten, Team is $29 per editor a month ($290 billed annually) with read-only members free, and Enterprise starts at $24,000 a year. Self-hosting is free. Twenty editors on Team annual come to $5,800 a year.

What would we give up by leaving Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity?

You would give up OrbusInfinity's preconfigured TOGAF ADM phases, content metamodel and governance artifacts, its BPMN 2.0 templates and its ITIL process mapping. Entelim maps framework content but is not certified for the TOGAF ADM. There is no one-click transfer, since Entelim imports files.

What would we gain by moving from Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity to Entelim?

A published price, free self-hosting, and one product name throughout, in place of a rebrand from iServer to OrbusInfinity. Entelim also shows the reasoning behind every derived connection in a proof drawer, and adds duplicate detection and a business case built from your own figures.

Can we run Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity and Entelim side by side before deciding?

Yes. Import a copy of your model into the free Community plan or a self-hosted copy, ask the same questions in both, and leave Orbus iServer or OrbusInfinity untouched. The health check puts your own data through Entelim for a fixed price and date.

Is Capsifi a separate product to compare against?

No, not any more. Orbus Software announced in December 2024 that it had acquired Capsifi, and folded it into OrbusInfinity, so Capsifi has no comparison page of its own.

Is iServer or OrbusInfinity pricing public anywhere?

Not on Orbus's own product page. GetApp's listing gives a starting figure of 12,000, shown as per feature, so ask Orbus for a quote at your scope. Entelim's plans are published on the pricing page.

Does OrbusInfinity support ArchiMate?

Yes. Orbus's capability page states full ArchiMate 3.2 notation with layered viewpoints, plus preconfigured TOGAF ADM phases, BPMN 2.0 templates and ITIL process mapping.

Do we have to publish our code if we use Entelim?

No. Self-hosting is free under AGPL, and a commercial licence is available for organisations that do not want AGPL's obligations.
