Build views from your model and keep them in a library

A library of the diagrams you have saved, and a composer that builds ArchiMate views from the elements already in your model and exports them.

Who it is for

Made for the people who answer for this.

  • An enterprise architect who builds views for a review.
  • A solution architect who needs a diagram that matches the model, not a drawing.

Questions it answers

Ask it the questions you are asked.

Which diagrams do we already have for this solution?

Asked by a solution architect.

Can I see this part of the model as a diagram?

Asked by an enterprise architect.

Can I send the diagram to someone who uses another tool?

Asked by an architect sharing a view.

What did the diagram look like when it was saved?

Asked by a reviewer.

How it works

From your data to an answer, in steps.

  1. Step 1

    Open the library

Saved diagrams are listed most recent first, searchable by name and filterable by solution.

  2. Step 2

    Open the composer

Start from a blank canvas or from a viewpoint.

  3. Step 3

    Build from your elements

Use the elements already in your model.

  4. Step 4

    Save and export

Save back to the library, or export as ArchiMate Exchange XML, Mermaid, Lucidchart or Archi.

What this module does

The library lists your saved diagrams across your solutions, most recently updated first and capped at the latest 200, searchable by name and filterable by solution, and opens each one in the composer. The composer builds views from the elements already in your model, either on a blank canvas or from a viewpoint, and saves them back to the library. A link can open the composer on a specific saved diagram, a viewpoint or a solution.

Views export as ArchiMate Exchange XML, and the composer can also export its live canvas as Mermaid, Lucidchart or Archi files. The Twin map is its own page; it is not saved to this library and has no link into the composer.
