Open Canvases, click New Canvas and Entelim gives you the nine boxes of the Business Model Canvas on one page. Each box saves on its own when you click out of it, so changing one box never means redoing the others. A sparkle button on each box drafts text for you to edit.
Put our business model on one page we can keep current
For startup founders and early operators.
The question
You drew the canvas once, on a whiteboard, in Miro or in an investor deck. Then the company moved on and the canvas did not, because updating it meant finding the file and redrawing the boxes.
What Entelim answers
The Canvases page lists each canvas in your organisation as a card: the name, the first part of the description, the operating-model badge (or "No operating model set") and the date it was last updated. With none yet, it says "No Business Model Canvases yet".
New Canvas opens a short form with three fields: a name (required), an optional description, and an Operating Model Archetype chosen from Coordination, Unification, Replication and Diversification, or left as "Not set". Click Create Canvas and the canvas opens.
The canvas page shows nine boxes in the classic layout: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Activities, Key Resources, Key Partnerships and Cost Structure. Each box has the prompt "One idea per line…". When you click out of a box it saves, and a small "Saved" appears under it. Changing the archetype saves straight away and confirms with "Operating model updated".
Each box also has a sparkle button, named for example "Draft Revenue Streams with AI". It puts a draft into that box. The draft is built from the other boxes you have already filled in, the canvas name, the archetype, and the number of applications recorded in your workspace. It is a starting point to edit, not a record of anything.
An Export & share panel offers Export as image, and Download file in Mermaid, Lucidchart or Archi format. Once the canvas has a saved diagram, a Share link appears that opens it for people inside your organisation.
Who asks it
A founder or head of operations who has to show the business model at a board meeting or a fundraise, and wants one page that is quick to correct.
How to get your answer
- Open Canvases from the sidebar.
- Click New Canvas, enter a name, pick an archetype if you know yours, and click Create Canvas.
- Start with Customer Segments and Value Propositions. Type one idea per line and click out of the box. Wait for "Saved".
- For a box you are stuck on, click its sparkle button, edit the draft and click out of the box to save it.
- When the board or an investor asks, use Export as image, which shows the completed canvas.
- Return when something changes. Edit only the box that moved.
Doing this without Entelim
Most teams use a slide, a Miro board or a Notion page. They work on the day they are made, then go stale because nothing connects them to the rest of the company's records. Keep using them if you like. Here the canvas sits beside your applications, capabilities and value streams.
Limits
- Drafts need AI suggestions switched on for your workspace; with them off, the box is left as it was.
- Creating, editing and deleting a canvas is limited to administrators, architects and business architects. Other roles can open and read canvases.
- Deleting a canvas cannot be undone. Entelim asks you to confirm first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I bring in the canvas I already have?
Type or paste each box. Pasting a list of lines works, because each line is one idea.
Do the AI drafts change my canvas on their own?
No. A draft appears in the box for you to read and edit. Nothing else on the canvas changes.
